The Body-Peace Corps was launched February 2010 on the University of Michigan campus. We are University Health Service sponsored student organization whose members are passionate about promoting positive body image and preventing eating disorders.
Our mission is to:
-
educate others about the dangers of pursuing the thin-ideal
-
support the pursuit of a healthy ideal
-
build a supportive, inclusive community
-
remind people that it is the size of their lives, not the size of their bodies that counts.
We offer:
-
peer-facilitated workshops for residence halls, living communities, sports teams, student organizations and groups
-
media literacy training
-
activism opportunities
-
